Panel II – Business and Private Sector Initiatives Driving Energy Sector Reform

Time: 12:00 – 13:00

Location: The main hall

Moderator: Adnan Rondić

The energy transition has already had a significant impact on individuals, as well as on small and medium-sized enterprises that represent 99% of all businesses in the EU, making them the backbone of Europe’s economy. These businesses employ around 100 million people and account for more than half of Europe’s GDP. They are also driving the transition to renewable energy solutions, decentralizing energy production and changing the energy landscape.

This panel will discuss the contribution of business and energy communities, as well as citizens themselves in the transition process towards renewable energy, as well as showcase innovative ideas and models that are already creating change and bringing new value. The aim of the panel will be to identify new business opportunities and barriers, and address ways to overcome them, enabling a greater influence of this sector to reach the transition’s demanding goals.
